MEXICAN HORCHATA Print

Ingredients:½ cup long grain rice
1 ½ cups fresh milk (not evaporated)
½ cup sugar, or less to your taste
1 tsp vanilla
½ tsp cinnamon
crushed ice
About 1 cup water
Instructions:Wash and rinse rice grains.
Boil water, enough to cover and leave overnight.
The starchy part of the rice will make the water cloudy-white.
Blender the rice and water and milk till smooth.
The consistency should be similar to milk.
Add more milk or water as needed.
Season with sugar, vanilla and cinnamon.
Strain through cheesecloth and serve over ice.
