SOOTHING TAHONG SOUP Print

Ingredients:1 kilo mussels, well cleaned
1 fist-sized piece of ginger, peeled and finely sliced
1 medium onion, finely sliced
3 cloves garlic, crushed
˝ tsp crushed peppercorn
1 bunch sili leaves
10-12 cups water
rock salt to taste
Instructions:In medium hot oil, sauté ginger and onions. Add garlic, pepper and mussels and toss for 1 minute. Pour water, cover pot and let mussels cook on very low heat for 5 minutes or until the shells open. Season to taste and add sili leaves just before serving.
